Mijn laatste ontwerp is eindelijk in diverse webshops verkrijgbaar, waaronder natuurlijk Hikjes in Huis! Deze vrolijke dieren ABC is geprint op mooi stevig A2 'blueback' papier en vormt een echte eye-catcher in de kinderkamer.

This cute ABC print is my latest design and is finally available at my webshop. It is printed on A2 'blueback' paper. This print is a real eye-catcher in a nursery or kids room!

Today I received my copy of the wonderful book 'Play all day' Design for children. I'm really excited to tell you I'm featured in this book, not once, but at three sections! This book, which is published by 'Gestalten' really exceeds my expectations! It's a hard covered book, with 240 pages full of the most beautiful and relevant design for kids! It's an honor to be part of this book. It's a true must have!

This is my presentation at the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven this year. It's at the City leather and luggage store shop window. They sell great leather bags, and have a beautiful shop window, so I'm very lucky to have the opportunity to display my products there!

Finally I can show you my latest work! As I told you before, I'm presenting some Hikje products at the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven next week. Yesterday I finished my little cranes!

They are made out of cardboard, wrapped in cotton thread. They are meant to be collectors items, since they are made out of fragile materials and clearly not suitable for kids!

I think they would look great on a shelf in a nursery!

Tomorrow I'm going to Eindhoven to display everything, I'l post some pictures of the presentation next week!

Thanks to Diana from gyerektrend for writing a piece about Hikje at her blog all the way in Hungary! She says gyerektrend is a blog for kid's fashion from head to toe! Too bad I can't read hungarian!

The proof of the variegation of Etsy is that you can buy beautiful clothes for your kids on the site besides the fantastic, handmade, unique toys and other pieces of stuff. Beyond the Hikje brand - which means little hiccup in Dutch - hides the person of Janneke Zantige, who graduated in 2006 from the Utrecht School of the Arts. Janneke designs not only products for kids, but fantastic lamps and radios as well. But here we'll focus on the children clothes this time.

In her collection you can find the most simple bodies and T-shirts which become something marvelous with some fantasy and magic. Her creations are so good that I would gladly put them on the wall in a nice frame. I asked her if anyone is interested, she can ship to Hungary as well."

At the end of October, Eindhoven presents the annual Dutch Design Week. I will be showing some new work to officially launch Hikje! I'm very busy designing and creating...! I'll give you a little sneak peak!

Also made my very first sale on Etsy last week, joehoooo!!!!!!! I'ts my winged gocco, witch later that week was featured in a treasury again! This time starvingartistbazaar was the curator!

Hi! Welcome at Hikje! My very first post on my blog. What to tell you...
I guess I'll just show you some of my Hikje products!

This Gocco print is called 'winged numbers' It's a duo coloured print in yellow and orange

100% cotton t-shirt, with handcut and machine-sewn felt figure.
Product is pre-washed to ensure everything is sewn on perfect!
This original textile collage (wall softie) is made of felt, stretched onto a wooden frame.
On top is a felt figure, hand cut and machine sewn onto the cotton.
Perfect to hang in a nursery or even in your living room!
